Licensing status

NT commercial agent licence: application in preparation

ReceFin is in pre-launch. The NT commercial agent licence application is being prepared; no licence has been issued. Licence details will be published once issued. Any activity requiring a licence will only begin once the relevant authorisations are in place.

ReceFin does not currently hold itself out as a licensed commercial agent. Descriptions of collection, debtor follow-up and payment arrangement services refer to planned services. Calling work “administration” does not remove a licensing requirement where the actual activity is regulated.

Each proposed engagement will be assessed for the relevant jurisdiction and authorisations. An NT licence, once issued, should not be understood as automatic authorisation to operate everywhere.

Our intended standards

  • Communicate respectfully and proportionately, with regard to the circumstances.
  • Verify account information and authority before taking action.
  • Record disputes and review relevant information before determining any further steps.
  • Consider hardship or vulnerability and refer matters appropriately.
  • Handle personal information carefully and limit unnecessary disclosure.

These are our intended operating principles, not a claim of accreditation or regulator endorsement.

Raise a concern or complaint

Email support@recefin.com.au with “Complaint” in the subject. Explain what happened, when it happened, how you would like us to respond and your preferred contact method. Include a reference if you have one, but avoid sensitive identity or financial documents in your first email.

Our proposed process is to acknowledge the concern, review the available information, seek clarification where needed and explain our response and any next steps. We will advise you of the expected response timeframe when acknowledging your complaint. There is no fee to raise a complaint.

If your concern relates to an account, you can ask for account information, tell us that you dispute it or nominate a representative. Sending an enquiry or complaint is not an admission that a debt is owed.
